Bruce D. Jones

Executive Director

As Executive Director since the purchase of Quality Care three years ago, he has been instrumental in building the care team, upgrading the facility, and setting the goal of outstanding service for our residents. He has a love of working with seniors and spending time listening to their stories about family, past experiences and hobbies. He has found residents just want someone to sit with them, listen and genuinely care about them as a person. “Our primary goal is to make our residents feel they are truly cared for and feel at home. Our staff is there to listen if they are having a bad day and do everything we can to bring a smile to their face.”

In addition to Executive Director of Quality Care, Bruce is also President of Jones Property Management & Realty, Inc. with extensive experience in land development, construction, financing, and property management. He joined his wife, Rebecca in their real estate company in 2012. The company has experienced a 100% growth in the property management business, consisting of multi-family, residential, commercial and Home Owners Association. With Bruce’s development experience he has assisted clients in purchasing commercial real estate, guiding them through all phases of due diligence, including financing, environmental, planning and zoning.

Prior to joining Jones Property Management & Realty, Inc. Bruce had 33 years of community banking experience, including 19 years as President and Chief Executive Officer. He served as chairman on numerous bank boards, and as President and CEO developed two highly successful community banks. In addition to banking, he has served on 30 community and non-profit boards throughout his career, and currently serves on the Economic Development Commission, Novant Health Presbyterian Health Medical Center Board and Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Board.

He is a graduate of Appalachian State University, with a B.S. degree in Business Administration/Banking & Finance. Bruce is a member of the Rowan/Salisbury Association of Realtors, Carolina Multiple Listing Service, and Greater Charlotte Apartment Association.

Vernell Dottery

Administrator

Vernell Dottery has a genuine love for the health care field and became a Licensed Administrator in 1998. As the Administrator for Quality Care Residential Home she oversees the daily operation of the facility including patient care, budgeting, staff development and training, communicates with family members, physicians, pharmacists, specialized therapists, and much more. She works closely with DHEC and other state agencies ensuring that all rules and regulations are followed and up to standards.

She has worked for both large and small assisted living communities. In addition to her role as administrator, her many years of experience has led her to start an independent consulting and training group for Assisted Living Administrators and their staff members. Vernell is a certified First Aid/CPR instructor, a certified ServSafe Food Manager instructor, a certified Alzheimer & Dementia specialist, and she is also certified as a DiSC facilitator.

Vernell is a graduate of Webster University with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling. In 2011, she attended Liberty University where she received another Master of Arts degree; this time in Education (M.Ed.). She has her real estate license and will be working on her doctorate in Healthcare Administration.
